DENTAL
MINISTRY MIRACLE
Crossroads
Center grew out of the Dental Van
ministry but began with the medical clinic. From the beginning it was our goal
to add a dental ministry. Each time the Board of Directors discussed the
subject we affirmed the need but felt we needed to wait until God gave us clear
direction.
In 2013 Dr. Arjen van de Voorde volunteered to serve as our Dental
Director. At our April 2013 meeting our Medical Director, Dr. Robert Persons,
shared that after much prayer he felt that it was God’s timing for us to move
ahead aggressively to establish the dental ministry. We had $12,000.00 set aside
for the dental ministry. It was estimated it would take a minimum of $120,00.00
to remodel the space and purchase minimum equipment for basic services.
The board agreed with Dr. Persons that it was in God’s timing to commit
to establishing the dental ministry. The entire $12,000.00 was committed to the
project and Dr. van de Voorde was asked to move ahead without delay. The
decision was made as a step of faith without any concrete plans on how to fund
the project.
No announcements of our decision was made to the public. About fifteen
days later an anonymous gift of $70,000.00 was given to the dental ministry. It
was an enormous confirmation to the board that it was indeed God’s timing. A
month later, Crosspoint Chapel made a $10,000.00 donation to the dental
ministry. Two months later another anonymous donation of $50,000.00 arrived.
God has provided above and beyond what we hoped for or thought possible.
It has all been His doing. We had no public announcements of our need. We had
no fund raising projects. God gets all the glory!
Last month we saw 14 dental
patients, and provided $8,177.00 of dental care. On the medical side, last
month we saw 64 medical patients and provided $132,275.00 of free medications.
Our free medications provided just this year is $436,590.00. But most important
of all, 3 persons have prayed to receive Christ this year. God continues to out
do Himself!
